This is such a beautiful fruit!! For my own preference, it doesn’t have fantastic flavor all on its own. It is as if a kiwi and a watermelon had a baby but didn’t add all of the sweetness. However, it still has a little sweet ~ a little tart. I made a vinaigrette in a garlic shrimp salad and the two flavors really complimented each other nicely.
Some health benefits of Dragon Fruit: They contain Vitamin C, B1 and B2. They are purported to reduce blood sugar levels and improve eyesight among other things.
Fruits and veggies all have great and varied benefits ~ don’t be afraid to change it up ~ don’t be afraid to try different things.
