Crabby Patties

This is just a simple crabcake recipe.  Because these are void of breadcrumbs and filled with crabmeat, it is a looser crabcake.  So make sure you have a hot pan and small cakes ~ it makes it easier to flip!

 

16 oz crabmeat
1/4 cup almond meal
1/8 cup coconut flour
1 egg
1 large shallot, finely diced
1 tsp sea salt
1/4 tsp Old Bay Seasoning
1T horseradish
Bacon Grease (or whatever oil you want to cook these in).
8 fresh lime wedges (from 2 limes)
cocktail sauce, optional

Combine first 8 ingredients.  Refrigerate for 1 hour.

In a hot skillet (medium-high heat) with a little bacon grease (this adds another layer of flavor), place mashed-down, golf-ball sized patties.  Cook until browned on each side (about 3-4 minutes per side).

Transfer to a plate.  Squeeze fresh lime over the patties and serve with homemade cocktail sauce!
